Greenwood Quire is a West Gallery Quire making glorious music in South Lincolnshire

Our repertoire of music comes from that provided by local singers and amateur musicians in churches and chapels across the country before there were organs and harmoniums. During the 18th and 19th Century music of this kind was recorded by a wide variety of composers and musicians in books and manuscripts.

The Quire has a membership of over 40 singers and band musicians under the guidance of a musical director. Conventionally the Quire parts are Treble, Alto, Tenor, and Bass.

Our Quire members and musicians come from far and wide (across the East Midlands) congregating in the southern Lincolnshire village of Aslackby to practice. Performances take place in Churches and Halls often coinciding with festivals or other cultural events.

We practise at St James the Great, Aslackby, Lincolnshire, NG34 0HG,  on the 3rd Saturday in the month from 10.00 am to midday.

We welcome singers who would like to join us. Music and MP3s are easily available on our website and we produce a list of the music we will be singing at our next practice. If you are interested in singing please come along and join in. If you are a musician interested in playing with us please contact our Conductor/Musical Director Brian David using our contact email:
